1. What is its Premiere Date?

The Crown season 3 is expected to premiere on November 17, 2019. Unlike the second season which was released only a year after the first season, Netflix and the production companies kept eager fans of the show waiting for almost two long years before announcing the premiere date of season 3. This is despite the fact that the show’s renewal for a third and fourth season had been announced since January 2018, just months after the second season was released. The upcoming third season took eight months to film, beginning in July 2018 until February 2019 when the filming was concluded.

2. New Sets Of Actors Are Being Cast

In order to maintain the originality that the show has come to be known for, the producers decided that new sets of actors will be cast after every two seasons as the timeline progresses and the characters grow older. The BAFTA-Award winning titular actor of The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies, Jason Watkins, joined the cast of the third season in May 2018 to play the role of Prime Minister Harold. Les Misérables’ Erin Doherty was confirmed to be coming on board as Prince Philip and the Queen’s only daughter, Princess Anne, in June, and her Les Misérables co-star Josh O’Connor was cast as Prince Charles the following month.

Although the upcoming third season will introduce prominent figures like the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Shand and Princess of Wales, Lady Diana Spencer, Lady Diana will not make an appearance on the show until the fourth season but Camilla Shand will, albeit briefly, and she will be portrayed by Killing Eve actress, Emerald Fennell.
