Brian Doyle-Murray is an American writer, actor, comedian, voice actor and producer who is respected for his screenwriting abilities and distinct voice. The iconic comedian and actor, is his younger brother. The long roster of movies in which Brian has appeared in include Scrooged, The Razor’s Edge, Caddyshack and Ghostbusters II. He has also appeared in several Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon series including The Marvelous Misadventure of Flapjack. He has been nominated for Emmy Awards three times all for his writing contributions to Saturday Night Live (SNL).

Brian Doyle-Murray was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, on the 31st of October 1945 to Lucille Murray (nee Collins) and Edward J. Murray II. His mother worked as a mailroom clerk while the father was a lumber salesman. His grandmother’s maiden name is Doyle which he bears alongside his surname with a hyphen.

The actor has eight siblings, some of which include Ed, Andy, John, Bill, Joel and Nancy. Three of his brothers; Joel Murray, Bill Murray and John Murray are actors like him. His other brother Andy is a chef and operates a restaurant in Florida known as Murray Brothers.

Brian Doyle-Murray is from a devout Catholic background and is of Irish ancestry. He schooled at Saint Mary’s College of California, Moraga, California where he graduated in 1968.

Brian Doyle-Murray commenced his career in the early 1970s working with The Second City; a comedy troupe in Chicago. Since then, he has progressed on to write for and feature in movies and television shows. In 1972, he featured as a detective in the comedy film Fuzz. He was a regular feature on the radio show The National Lampoon Radio Hour which started in 1973 and ended in 1975; during its run, the radio show was a hit and huge success. While working on the Radio Hour, he worked alongside his brother Bill Murray, , Harold Ramis and Richard Belzer.

From 1977 to 1982, Brian featured in and wrote for the show Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell. He is noted as one of the few features to have worked with the three producers – Dick Ebersol, Jean Doumanian and Lorne Michaels, of Saturday Night Live.

Brian Doyle-Murray has featured in a handful of movies and television shows in his career as an actor. In the 1980s, he started off by co-writing and featuring in the comedy film titled Caddyshack which was directed by Harold Ramis. He acted alongside his brother Bill Murray, Ted Knight, Rodney Dangerfield and Chevy Chase.

Other films that Brian Doyle-Murray had worked on in the 1980s include; Modern Problems (1981), Sixteen Candles (1984), Head Office (1985), Club Paradise (1986), Superman 50th Anniversary (1988), The Experts (1989).

In the 1990s, Brian Doyle-Murray continued building his impressive career and featured in the following – Small White House (1990), Nothing but Trouble (1991), JFK (1991), Babe Ruth (1991), Groundhog Day (1993), Dennis the Menace Strikes Again (1998), The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars (1998), among many others.

Brian Doyle-Murray has been married to one woman all his life, although his marriage came much later in his life. That lucky woman is Christina Stauffer. They tied the knot on the 28th of August 2000 when Doyle-Murray was 55 years old.

Christina Stauffer is not into the entertainment business like her husband Brian, instead, she is a veterinarian. She attended Kansas State University and graduated from her College of Veterinary Medicine on the 16th of May 2008. After leaving college, she spent some time working as a vet at the Studio City Animal Hospital in Studio City, California. The couple does not have any child and together, they reside in Moraga, California.
