Jessica Wesson is an actress who retired from acting quite early. She had some fantastic roles, especially in TV series and gained popularity when she was introduced as Brad’s girlfriend in the family-friendly sitcom Home improvement. Jessica has been nominated for the “Young Artist Award” twice in the year 1993 and 1997. She was active in acting between 1992 and 2001. Although her acting career was short-lived, she put lots of work into her craft and was recognized for it.

Jessica Wesson was born on the first of January in the year 1982 in California, USA. She grew up in a loving family and her parents, recognizing her acting talents at a young age, encouraged her to try it. She heeded their advice and began to practice and audition for movie roles. While much isn’t known about her family due to her private nature, there is no denying that Jessica turned out to be a wonderful actress.

Jessica Wesson landed her first role in 1992 on the television show Home Improvement where she featured as Jennifer Sudarsky who is the first girlfriend of Brad Taylor. The series was created by Carmen Finestra, Matt Williams, and David McFadzean. Wesson was well received by fans of the show and was invited back several times to take the same role in different episodes.

In 1994, she got a supporting role in the movie Milk Money as Stacey. In the movie, some boys trying to lose their virginity hire a prostitute to aid them. Jessica wasn’t part of the main cast in the movie but it provided a learning opportunity for her. Jessica Wesson also got a role as Amber Whitmire in Casper (1995). The movie is a fantasy comedy which was based on the cartoon character Casper the Friendly Ghost of Harvey Comics. Her character in the movie was a rival to Kathleen, a 13-year-old who had just lost her mother and was hoping to make a friend.

This 13-year-old also had a crush on Amber’s boyfriend Vic. Jessica’s role was a supporting part but outstanding. She worked with Christina Ricci whose career was then on the rise. Some critics have referred to it as the best role in her acting career.

Jessica also featured as Wendy in the television series Boy Meets World. The sitcom is a coming of age story of teenage boys and was produced and created by April Kelly and Michael Jacobs. She featured recurringly between 1994-1995. One of her greatest performance was in the movie Flipper (1996). The movie which is a remake of a 1963 television series with the same name highlights how a young boy makes friends with a dolphin. Jessica’s character is named Kim.

In 1999, she got a role on the TV Show Odd Man Out as Riley. The TV series shows the struggle of a teenage boy with his everyday problems, especially living among 5 women (his three sisters, mother, and aunt). Jessica Wesson featured as Katie Albright on the TV Show Judging Amy in 2001. The show is a family drama based on 3 generations of women staying together. The series aired from 1999-2005 and got 44 nominations and 13 wins, including 3 Golden Globes.

In the same 2001, she featured in Longshot an action-packed comedy as Kelly Montgomery. Wesson gained more popularity with the role, however, it would become the last role she played before her abrupt retirement.

Jessica Wesson had a progressive career with lots of potentials, but unfortunately, it was short-lived. In addition to her retirement, Wesson has also vanished from the social media space, thus, making it difficult to keep up with her.

Jessica Wesson had the potentials to go ahead to become one of Hollywood’s greatest actresses as she kept improving with every role, however, her career ended at a time when much was expected of her. Her debut show, Home Improvement received numerous awards and nominations from Golden Globe, Kids Choice, Primetime Emmy, and many others, however, she won none for herself.

Jessica got a Young Artist Award for her outstanding performance in the supporting role of Kim in the movie Flipper (1996). Over the course of her shortlived career, she acted alongside some big names in the film industry, they include Amy Brenneman, Pamela Anderson, Tyne Daly and Davis Hasselholf, just to mention a few.
