Pati Jinich’s Bio, Age
She was born Patricia Jinich on March 30, 1972, in Mexico City. Jinich was always inclined to food and its components from a tender age having grown up in a family where almost everyone was interested in culinary arts. Although she wanted to go into education, she gradually toed the line of her older sisters who practiced culinary arts.
Jinich attended Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and got a degree in Political Science before she proceeded to Georgetown University where she earned a masters degree in Latin-American studies. She had dwelt a little while in politics before taking a step into her culinary career.
Her food career kicked off when she moved to Texas with her husband. Having nothing much to do at home at the time, she began cooking Mexican food and carrying out researches on Mexican cuisine. From cooking for herself, she moved to teach her neighbors. Jinich soon joined the Dallas Public TV station and worked on the PBS series ‘New Tastes from Texas’ with Chef Stephan Pyles, as a production assistant.
After she got her masters’ degree, she started working at the Inter-American Dialogue although she had her mind in food. Pati soon started a Mexican cuisine blog and subsequently started getting invitations from TV producers to give talks about food on TV. Before then, she launched a live cooking series Mexican Table in 2007. The programme featured Jinich cooking different Mexican courses on live TV.
This led to the creation of her own culinary TV show Pati’s Mexican Table which airs on various platforms. The show airs in the US on Create TV and Asian Food channel. For Southeast Asia, it airs on Food Network. The show has garnered a lot of recognition and accolades including the James Beard Award, as well as an Emmy nomination.

She has three older sisters Alisa Romano, Karen Drijanski, and Sharon Drijanski who went into culinary arts. Her oldest sister, Karen, has launched two restaurants in Mexico City and still oversees the running of the business. Sharon is an author of a vegetarian cookbook ‘Comida Sana’. Her third sister, Alisa, is a well-trained chef and a breadmaker and is very good with French and Mexican cuisine.

Pati and Daniel got married in 1996 and have stayed together since then. Their marriage of over 20 years became a reality after the couple met on a blind date and started courting afterward. Pati was 24 when she married her husband. The couple have three beautiful sons together and reside in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
