John Krasinski Bio

John Burke Krasinski was born on October 20, 1979, in Boston at the St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. While his mother is Irish-American and a nurse, his father is Polish-American and a medical professional known as an internist.

He has two older brothers – Paul and Kevin – and together, they were raised as Roman Catholics. Though he was born in the Brighton neighbourhood of Boston, he grew up in Newton,  suburbs in the city.

His interest in acting began when he was cast as Daddy Warbucks in his elementary school production of Annie. He later met B. J. Novak (fellow actor on The Office) when they were in high school together, Newton South High School. John then starred in a satirical play which was written by Novak. The two graduated from high school in 1997.

John Krasinski later attended Brown University, where he studied theatre arts and graduated in 2001 with honours. Prior to joining Brown, he travelled to Costa Rica where he taught English as a foreign language.

While at Brown, he joined a sketch comedy group, Out of Bounds in order to indulge his passion for acting.

John’s relationship with has lasted for over a decade. The two met in 2008 by complete chance just after Emily relocated to the United States. Emily, at the time, was only concerned about settling into her new city and new life and she was not on the lookout for a relationship. However, John took her to a gun range for their first date and their attraction to each other grew from then on. In 2009, the two got engaged and on the 10th of July 2010, they had their wedding in Como, Italy. The event was held at their good friend, George Clooney’s estate.

The two now have two daughters together – Hazel who was born on the 16th of February, 2014 and Violet who was born in June 2016.

Prior to marrying Emily Blunt, John was in a relationship with Rashida Jones, who he dated from 2005 till 2006. He was also rumoured to have dated the award-winning actress, Renée Zellweger, in 2007, although this was never confirmed.
