Although much of her background information is elusive, it is known that her father was a qualified drilling engineer and she was brought up in Jakarta, Indonesia where she attended Jakarta International English School. During her years at Jakarta, she became fluent in the Indonesian language, but by the time the budding star was 14, her family went back to America and settled in their hometown of Texas.

Angela got her university degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas where she graduated from in 1993 as an English major. A Christian by religion, the rising star attends Bel-Air Presbyterian Church where she is a dedicated member. During the early days of her career in 1993, the emerging star was on Late Night with while she kept looking for bigger opportunities. After her relocation to LA, Angela Kinsey went ahead to hone her acting prowess by engaging in classes with Groundlings. Her dedication and hard work paid off when she bagged a role in a single episode of Step by Step and later, a voice role in King of the Hill.

Taking the bull by the horn, the rising star auditioned for the role of Pam Beesly on The Office, although she did not succeed in getting the role she wanted, she was later called back to audition for the role of Angela Martin which she clinched at the first try.
