Bob Saget, whose career can be defined along the lines of his stand-up comedy and on-screen comedy is a Jewish descent born on May 17, 1956, to Benjamin and Rosalyn Saget. Born as Robert Lane Saget, Bob attended high school in Philadelphia where he was birthed despite a brief period of living in California. He was originally going to become a doctor but was redirected to the cornerstone of his natural talent and was advised to seek a career in films by his English teacher, Elaine Zimmerman.
It was an advise Saget took to heart. The Jewish comedian went to film school at Temple University. There, Saget created his first film, Through Adam’s Eyes which was about a boy who received reconstructive facial surgery. For Saget, it was the very first confirmation of his talents as the film earned him an award of merit in the Student Academy Awards.
Bob Saget’s long and extensive career started in Los Angeles which he moved to after his attempt at a graduate course at the University of California failed. At Los Angeles, Bob showed his comic talent at any comedy club that would let him. While selling his talent around comic clubs, he met Brad Grey who became his manager, helping him to secure roles in television and film. His partnership with Brad Grey soon helped him to secure a breakthrough role on Full House as Danny Tanner, a widowed father and with him, the show rose to the Top 30 shows in the country in ratings. His performances on the show soon started to open other opportunities for him, and in 1989, he became the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos. He ran the show as host from 1989 to 1997.
