Bonnie McFarlane’s Bio
By virtue of being a very private person, very little is known about the childhood of this popular Canadian-American comedian. But then, it’s no secret she was born on the 28th of March 1973; her place of birth was in a farm in Cold Lake Alberta, Canada. Life wasn’t easy for young Bonnie McFarlane in any way. She grew up in the most uncomfortable living conditions.
Often referred to as a feral comic, she developed her act without many influencers while growing up in Rural Alberta. As a girl, she grew up being as a Tomboy and as a result of their rural settlement, she had no one to look up to. We gathered that this comedian was found to be somewhat rude, and very blunt when she was growing up. She has been able to finely channel this into her comedy acts and it has been one of the unique things about her.
Her rise to fame started when the manager of a certain club asked her to take part in a contest dubbed “the search for Canada’s Funniest New Comic”. She did and eventually emerged the winner. The success she got from the contest was the beginning of greater things to come. Shortly after that, she moved to New York in a bid to pursue her career squarely as a result of the large opportunities in Big Apple. In no time, she landed a manager and an agent. Bonnie also had a very brief stint in Los Angeles where she recorded brief success while doing stand up and a little writing.
In 2004, Bonnie McFarlane appeared as a contestant in the 2nd season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. It was bad news for her this time as she was the first comedian to be eliminated on the show. Though she was hugely disappointed, she continued pushing with diligence and dedication which eventually paid off. Lady McFarlane has gone on to record many successes, appearing on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn, amongst others.
Most people got familiar with Bonnie when she served as a panelist on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, a Comedy Central talk show which aired from 2002 to 2004. She also gained some admiration for being one of Dr. Katz’s patient on the animated series, Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist.
Bonnie achieved a great feat in 2005, landing her own HBO One Night Stand special. Building on that success, she went on to pull off other lucrative gigs with Comedy Central and Nickelodeon. McFarlane kept up with the pace and November 2011 saw her launch the My Wife Hates Me podcast alongside her husband. A few years later (in 2016), she published her memoir, You Are Better Than Me. You will definitely learn more about Bonnie McFarlane reading through the memoir, it covered everything from her upbringing to her rise to fame as a comedian.
Net Worth
Over the years, this talented Canadian-American comedian has strived to remain relevant in the industry and it has brought her vast recognition and good fortune. Thus far, she has accumulated a net worth estimated around $400 thousand from her entertainment endeavors. And, considering her current pace, it is only normal to assume she would double or triple that amount in the nearest future.
Bonnie Mcfarlane Husband and Daughter
On the 17th of September 2005, Bonnie McFarlane tied the knot with who is also a comedian. According to her, she hated him at first when they met at an event. But gradually, she grew fond of him and the rest became history. As of this writing, the Bonnie-Rich union has seen the birth of a child, a daughter they named Rayna Lynn Vos; she was born on the 31st day of July and in the year 2008.
While Rayna is the only child of Bonnie, the same can’t be said for Rich. He fathered two daughters in his first marriage that ended in a divorce.
Bonnie’s husband once battled alcohol and crack cocaine addiction. Thankfully, he was able to clean himself up and focus on his career. Beyond being an American comedian, Rich Vos is celebrated for his works as a radio host and as an actor.
