Fans of the sketch comedy series MADtv will definitely remember Debra Wilson, the longest-serving original cast member of the series whose outrageous impressions of and never failed to make the audience laugh. Debra is a popular black-American actress, writer, and comedian. She was part of the foremost cast of MADtv when the series took-off in 1995 but left immediately after season eight in 2003.

Debra Wilson made the record as the first African-American female to perform on MADtv. Since then, she has made several contributions as a voice to productions like; Avatar, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The Boondocks, Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil, American Dad!, The Proud Family, and Family Guy.

The actress was born in South Ozone Park, Queens, New York, on the 26th of April, 1962, and grew up in NYC, a neighboring town to her place of birth. There is currently no information about her family background or the identity of her parents, but records have it that her birth name is Debra Renee Wilson.

Debra Wilson had her early education at New York City High School of the Performing Arts where she graduated from. She proceeded to Syracuse University for further studies while working in radio and TV broadcasting. During the 1980s, Debra worked in her capacity as a pre-school teacher for All Saints Church located in Sunnyside, Queens.

The actress then made her acting debut on the set of The Apollo Comedy Hour. She became a regular on The Uptown Comedy Club following her success with her debut role. She collaborated with Joan Rivers to host ‘Can We Swap,’ she was on Burger King and on ‘New York Undercover’ as a spokesperson. Before joining the cast of MADtv, Debra was part of the cast of ‘Let it be Me’ which was her debut feature film.

At a time, she had a couple of constrictor snakes living with her, she also had two cats and two scorpions all of which have long passed away. Presently, she has a Columbian Tegu lizard which she has named Lizard for a companion.
