Desiigner Bio, Age
The rapper burst onto the scene when his hit new single broke in the spring of 2016. Born Sidney Royel Selby III on the 3rd of May, 1997, Desiigner is an American rapper, songwriter and record producer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and is of African American descent.
He comes from a family with a proud music heritage; his grandfather is the popular blues musician Selby Sidnei. He began singing in the church choir at the age of 14 but owes his fame and popularity to his debut single Panda which dropped in 2016. The track raced up charts, peaking at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in February of 2016.

His career took an upward turn when rap icon who sampled Panda for his 7th album announced that the upcoming rapper was to be signed to his Good Music imprint under the Def Jam Recordings. Before Panda, Desiigner had released some songs such as Danny Devito and On the Low but none of this kick-started his career.
His debut single was so good that a number of top artists such as and Maino amongst many others were rebuffed when they tried remixing the track. He also soon figured that fame could be something of a poisoned chalice when he started receiving criticism for the similarities with Atlanta rapper Future.
He wasn’t one to take the criticisms lying down and soon responded to the critics, saying that God gave him Future as a blessing, but he gave himself a blessing too. He said he had respect for Future’s music and hoped the sky was big enough for everyone to shine.
In the middle of 2016, Desiigner announced that he’d be naming his first studio album The Life of Designer and the music production will be handled by Mike Dean who has also worked with . Desiigner featured as a guest performer in the lead single of the upcoming album Cruel Winter named Champions.
As with most hip-hop artists these days, Desiigner has had his own run-in with the law, a 911 caller claimed on the 8th of September in 2016 that Desiigner had pulled a gun on three other people which instantly prompted their arrest.
They were charged with drug possession and weapon charges which were later dropped on the 10th of September. His music brand is based solely on southern hip hop known as trap music which evolved from Atlanta, Georgia.

He grew up in Bedstuy Brooklyn New York with his three siblings; an older brother and two sisters. He is quite tight-lipped about his family and there are not many records of them on the internet. But he famously did take his mother -Sheila as his date to the Grammy’s, a gesture that says a lot about his value for family life. The family’s history is traced back to the island of Barbados.
