Emilie Ullerup is a Danish actress well known for her role as Ashley Magnus in the Canadian science fiction-fantasy TV series Sanctuary. She is also popular as Astrid Poulsen on the Canadian drama TV series Arctic Air and as Anna Zemenko in five episodes of the American TV series True Justice. Emilie Ullerup’s Bio

Ullerup was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on the 27th of October 1984. Following her high-school graduation in 2003, she left her home country to Vancouver to pursue an acting career. In Vancouver, she attended the Vancouver Film School from where she graduated in 2005 after completing her studies in both Acting Essentials and Acting for Film and TV programs.

Following her graduating from the Vancouver Film School, Emilie Ullerup landed her first role in 2006 as Julia Brynn on Battlestar Galactica – a remake which aired on the Sci-Fi Channel. Later that same year, she stared as Sandra in the first episode of the Canadian TV series – Blood Ties.

She later portrayed Ashley Magnus in the first and second seasons of Canadian science fiction-fantasy TV series Sanctuary. Ullerup left the show after her character was written off; her departure from the series became a topic for debate as fans demanded she be brought back in future episodes, but that never happened until the show was stopped in 2012.

In 2016, she starred as Bree O’Brien in Canadian/American drama TV series, Chesapeake Shores alongside , Treat Williams, , Andrew Francis, Diane Ladd, and Brendan Penny. Emilie Ullerup has starred in several other films and TV series including Hunt to Kill, True Memoirs of an International Assassin, Death Do Us Part, Leprechaun: Origins, What an Idiot, Riese: Kingdom Falling, Signed, Sealed, Delivered: From the Heart, Hearts of Christmas, Sleepwalking in Suburbia, With Love, Christmas, JPod etc.

In 2008, she won the Leo Award for Best Lead Performance by a Female in a Drama Series for her role in JPod. Her role as Astrid Poulsen on the Canadian drama TV series Arctic Air also earned her two Leo Award nominations for Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series in 2012 and 2013 respectively. In 2013, Emilie Ullerup was also nominated for Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Motion Picture for her role in Death Do Us Part. In that same year, she won the UBCP/ACTRA Awards for Best Actress for her role as Astrid Poulsen in Arctic Air.

Emilie is from a family of diplomats. Her Parents are Ove Ullerup-Petersen and Bodil Mørkøv Ullerup. Her father Ove Ullerup-Petersen is a Diplomat, Jurist, and a decorated Denmark Ambassador in Vietnam. He also holds the title of Lord Chamberlain for the Danish Royal Family.

Growing up, the family lived in several places including Vietnam and Sweden, thus in addition to Danish, the actress also speak English, Swedish, and Vietnamese fluently. She has two sisters – Simone and Caroline Ullerup.

In 2008, Emilie Ullerup discovered a tumor around her spinal nerves and had to undergo a surgery in 2009 to have it removed. During the surgery, her coccyx and half of the sacrum of her pelvis was removed but she recovered right on time to return to work after about five months.
