Fluminense

Fabinho began his professional career at Fluminense. On May 20, 2012, he was called into a first team matchday squad for the first time, as an unused replacement in a 1–0 win against Corinthians for the season’s Serie.

Rio Ave and Real Madrid.

Fabinho signed a six-year contract with Rio Ave in the Portuguese Primeira Liga on June 8, 2012. On July 19, Fabinho joined Real Madrid Castilla on a season-long loan after spending one month at Rio Ave. On the first day of the Spanish Segunda División season on August 17, he made his professional debut, playing 90 minutes in a 2–1 defeat against Villarreal. On April 28, 2013, he scored his debut goal, heading an extra-time equalizer in a 3–3 tie against CD Numancia.

On May 8, 2013, he made his Real Madrid debut, playing 14 minutes in place of Fábio Coentro and assisting Ngel Di Mara’s sixth goal in Real Madrid’s 6–2 La Liga victory against Málaga at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

AS Monaco

Fabinho joined Monaco on a season-long loan on July 19, 2013. On August 10, 2013, he made his debut at the Stade Chaban-Delmas in Monaco’s first Ligue 1 encounter of the 2013–14 season, playing the full match against Bordeaux, which Monaco won 2–0.

On July 2, 2014, he returned to the club on loan for another year after finishing his one-year loan at Monaco.
