This article brings you details about how Aileen Wuornos turned into one of the most terrifying female serial killers in history,

Aileen Wuornos Background Information

Before the notable serial killer Aileen Wuornos was born, her father was imprisoned. He was arrested for sexual assaults, and all through her early years, she didn’t really have a father figure. By the time she was 13 her father took his life in his cell and to Aileen’s dismay, her mother deserted in the spur of the moment.

It was now up to her grandparents to cater to her needs but that also had it’s downside as her grandmother passed on a few months after her father’s death. This left little Aileen with no one but her grandpa who tortured and raped her for over a year. He even allowed his friends to assault the young girl and eventually Aileen Wuornos had to flee to a care center for single expectant mothers when she realized she was pregnant.

After she birthed her child, serial killer Aileen Wuornos went back home but left again following some issues. In the bid to survive, she gave the child up for adoption and ventured into stealing as well as prostitution to make ends meet.

When she turned 20, Aileen attracted love from a 69-year-old business tycoon, Lewis Fell whom she eventually married. However, this also proved to be a disaster like most aspects of the serial killer’s life. They eventually annulled their union about 2 months into the marriage.

It is also known that the deadly serial killer loved to party and she is not a thrift spender. Aileen squandered the money she had been able to get both from her marriage and the inheritance of her late brother. She hit rock bottom in her finances and eventually landed in the streets where she became a notorious prostitute. She got accommodation with a woman who eventually became her lover and crime associate

Who Were the Victims of the Serial Killer?

Aileen Wuornos started killing most of her customers, the first being Richard Mallory whom she met sometime in 1989. Richard’s body was found in the woods with multiple bullets which was later confirmed to have been from a gun Aileen owned. The killer made her second kill the next year and this time it was a 43-year-old man identified as David Spear. Like her first victim, this man was also found with multiple shots on his body. Now a full-fledged serial killer, Aileen Wuornos murdered her third victim and he was found dead with multiple shots at the roadside. After came 4 more murders before she and her accomplice were arrested. Moore was also apprehended while fleeing to Pennsylvania.

Serial Killer Aileen Wuornos’ Trial & Death

Aillen’s partner in the murders, Moore foresaw the impending danger that lay ahead of them when they were apprehended and she decided to cooperate with the police in indicting Aileen for the 7 murders. The police brought Moore to Florida and put her in a room with a telephone with which she would communicate Aileen and it was intended to get her to confess of her crimes on the phone. In return, Moore was to get full immunity from the paws of the law. Serial killer Aileen Wuornos, on the other hand, was a hard nut to crack but finally she gave in after 4 days of conversations with Moore.

Her ally finally succeeded in getting a statement about her executing the victim and that was all the police needed to nab the serial killer Aileen Wuornos. She later discovered Moore had played a smart one on her as she watched things unfold during her trial. Aileen even went to the extreme of rejecting a good number of meals because she feared she will be poisoned. She was later found guilty on all the counts of murder leveled against her and sentenced to death.

The misery of staying in prison for years had become overwhelming to serial killer Aileen Wuornos who knew that death was inevitable. She opted to hasten the procedure by making a petition to be killed immediately. Although it took a while before her wish was granted, the deed was done on October 9, 2002.
