Spurred by the speculations that she is dating BTS member Suga in 2018, the South Korean singer had to make a public statement to set the records straight. She first tendered a heartfelt apology for any misconception that stemmed from her Instagram post that fueled the rumor of a possible romance between her and Suga. Her initial posts on Instagram had been misconstrued to mean that she was dating Suga but Suran reiterated in another post that her relationship with the BTS star is strictly professional.

According to Suran, she met Suga in 2017, the same year they worked on the hit single Wine and their relationship has remained professional since then.

Whoever Suran is dating or dated is yet to be revealed as she keeps such details away from the public. She is perhaps focused on her health in recent times. During a session on the talk show Video Star in April 2019, Suran shared the news of her battle with cancer in 2015. She is a survivor of the deadly disease and went through mastectomy to fight it off.
