The amazing actress was born as Jaina Lee Ortiz on the 20th of November, 1986, in Fort Ord, California, to Daisey Sara Acevedo and Joe Ortiz, who was a police officer. After her birth, her family relocated from California to Bronx, New York, where she spent her childhood days. The actress was an only child and thus grew up without siblings. Jaina Lee Ortiz is a citizen of the United States and is of Hispanic ethnicity.

At the young age of 9, Oritz’s interest for dancing influenced her decision of becoming a Salsa dancer which saw to her training to become one as she took salsa dancing lessons. She was so good at it that she became a Salsa dance teacher at the age of 15. Subsequently, she began traveling within and outside the US as a full-time dance teacher and entertainer.

Concerning her school history, Ortiz was a student of Herbert H. Lehman College located in New York City, New York.
