He is known professionally as Jax Taylor but he was born Jason Michael Cauchi on the 11th of July 1979. He was born and raised in Shelby Township, Oceana County, Michigan. His mother Marie is originally from Australia while his father Ronald Cauchi is originally from Malta. He grew up alongside one sibling, a sister named Jenny Lynn. Taylor attended Eisenhower High School in Shelby Township and graduated in 1998. He originally enrolled at Michigan State University for his college education but he ultimately dropped out to join the Navy. He was trained at the Navy base in Norfolk, Virginia but his stint in the force lasted only for about 6 months.

Jax Taylor worked as a model in Europe starting from the early 2000s. He got signed to Ford Models when he moved to New York City and at that time, he shared an apartment with other male models including Channing Tatum. In the course of his modeling career, he has featured in several men’s lifestyle/fashion magazines such as Trump Magazine, V Man, GQ Japan, Men’s Health, Cosmopolitan, 944 Magazine, Esquire, Instinct, CosmoGirl and Out. He has also modeled for brands like Target, Macy’s, JC Pennys, Old Navy, Nordstrom, Kohl’s, Sketchers, Paul Mitchell, AussieBum, Taco Bell and Abercrombie & Fitch.

Taylor’s acting career dates back to 2009 when he was featured as an extra on an episode of the hit comedy series Desperate Housewives. Three years later, he appeared as an uncredited extra on an episode of the crime series Dexter (2012). Also in 2012, he joined the cast of the reality TV series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (2012-14) which marked the beginning of his career as a reality TV personality.

While his television career was in its budding stages, Jax Taylor gained employment at the Hollywood-based restaurant, Sur Restaurant & Lounge which is owned by British-born restauranteur, Lisa Vanderpump. This earned him a spot on the cast of the reality series Vanderpump Rules which debuted in January 2013. The series is centered on the lives of the staff of two restaurants owned by Lisa Vanderpump – Sur and Villa Blanca.

Taylor’s profile as a reality TV star also gave a major boost to his acting career. He appeared in the sci-fi telefilm Sharknado: The 4th Awakens (2016). He was equally featured in another reality series Vanderpump Rules: Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky (2017).
