Joshua Kushner’s Family

On the 12th day of June 1985, the Kusher family grew bigger with the addition of Joshua Kushner. His mother is Seryl Stadtmauer and his father Charles Kushner. Joshua’s family are Jewish Holocaust survivors.

They originate from Belarus and in 1949 migrated to the United States where they settled in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Upon settling in New Jersey, Joshua’s grandfather, Joseph Kushner began working many jobs some of which include as a construction worker and builder. Subsequently, he began investing in real estate where he soon found tremendous success.

Joseph Kushner passed away in 1985, the same year that Joshua Kushner was born. He willed all of his real estate investment to his family and in the same year he died, Charles Kushner, Joshua’s dad founded Kushner Company in order to effectively control his father’s investments which had grown to over 4,000 apartments in New Jersey.

Kushner’s father Charles at the time was a graduate of the Hofstra University School of Law. As the chairman of Kushner Company, Joshua’s father has successfully expanded the business which still has the state of New Jersey as its strongest area.

The company is headquartered at 666 Fifth Avenue, New York City, New York, the United States which it bought in early 2007 for almost $2 billion. According to Forbes, the Kushner family is worth about $1.8 billion. At the time, Kushner’s father Charles Kushner had just completed his two-year sentence in a federal prison where he served jail time for illegally donating to Democratic political campaigns. The Kushner family until 2016 were huge donors to the Democratic party. However, during the 2016 race to the White House, Charles Kushner donated $100,000 to support . Despite his family’s support for the Republican party, Joshua remains a Democrat. He didn’t support Trump for his race to the White House.
