Karrueche Tran was born in America to a Vietnamese mother and a Jamaican father. One of her long list of controversies is the internet’s refusal to accept her black heritage. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Karrueche educational background started at Fairfax High School before she switched to Birmingham High School due to her family’s relocation to San Fernando Valley. For college, Karrueche attended Pierce College, a community college in San Fernando Valley and graduated with a degree in Graphic Design in 2008.

As a young woman, Karrueche always had an interest in Fashion, so when she graduated from college, she got a job at Nordstrom and began a career as a personal shopper which lasted from 2009-2012. Her experience as a personal shopper was transferred to a career as a freelance celebrity stylist.
