Katharine Towne was born on the 17th of July 1978 in Hollywood, California, USA and she is of North American ethnicity. The name of her parents are Robert Towne and Julie Payne. Interestingly, her maternal grandparents, Anne and John Payne were actors. In terms of siblings, Katharine happens to be the only child of her parents. Though she was raised in Los Angeles, California, more details relating to her childhood and education are quite slim.

Career

In the year 1998, katherine Towne made her debut as an actress in the movie titled “Cool Girl,” where she acted alongside Sean Patrick Flanery and Dominique Swain. She was then featured in the 1999 movie, “The Bachelor,” where she brought the character Monique to life, alongside seasoned actors and . Her next movie came the follow year when she was cast alongside Michelle Pfeifer and in the thriller, “Shadow of Truth.” The year 2001 was a good one for her and her career as she was featured in a good number of top rated movies including; the television movie, “Close to Home,” and the comedy film, “Sol Goode”.

She also played a lead role in the science fiction movie, “Evolution,” also in 2001. Two years later, she was cast in the horror movie titled, LD 50 Lethal Dose and also starred in a comedy film, “Easy Six” – also in 2003 alongside James Belushi and Julian Sands. Her follow up movies include; “Trespassing” in 2004, “Mr. Dramatic” in 2005, “New Love, New Happiness” and Looking for Sunday” in 2006, “The Iceprints” in 2007, and “Blur” in 2009.

Katharine Towne’s Parents

Katherine’s father, Robert Towne was born Robert Bertram Schwartz on the 23rd of November 1934, in Los Angeles, United States. He is a popular actor, director, producer and screenwriter who played a major part in the what became the New Hollywood wave of movie-making. His greatest work to date was witnessed in the 1974 movie, “Chinatown”, which won an Academy Award for Original Screenplay.

The movie’s screenplay is said to be one of the best ever written. When asked, Robert revealed that his work was inspired by one of the chapters in the West magazine article centered on “Los Angeles” as previously envisioned by Raymond Chandler. Other movies he has penned include; “The Two Jakes” in 1990, “The Last Detail” in 1973, “Shampoo” in 1975 and the first two installments of “Mission Impossible”.

Katharine’s mother, Julie Payne is also an actress who began acting at the ripe age of eighteen. She then grew in the movie industry to become one of the leading ladies on screen during the late 30s and early 40s. Katharine Towne’s parents met in 1976 when their career was still blooming in Hollywood. The following year, they tied the knot in a small wedding ceremony with close friends and family invited. Unfortunately, the pair filed for a divorce in 1982.

 

Relationship With Charlie Hunnam

Katharine Towne has always been very attractive right from her younger days and it can be argued that her looks helped give her an edge when it comes to finding good work as an actress in Hollywood. In terms of her relationships, though she has had her own fair share of dates, she found love in the company of fellow seasoned actor, Charlie Hunnam. The pair met during an audition assembly for the television series, “Dawsons Creek” in 1998.

After dating briefly, they quickly tied the knot barely three weeks after they met. Sadly, just after three years of marriage, the pair decided to get a divorce. Currently, Katharine Towne is single and hasn’t announced any new romantic relationship with anyone. Nevertheless, she seems to be enjoying her time as a single lady.
