Drake Tester is the son of one of the owners of Oak Island Tours Inc. and has appeared in a few episodes of the show made by the company called The Curse of Oak Island. Though Drake lived a very short life, his legacy of never judging anyone, always offering a helping hand to those in need and seeking only for the happiness of others, will never be forgotten.

Drake Tester’s Biography
Drake Tester was born on July 17, 2000, in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was named Drake Maxwell Tester at birth. He was born into a family of 5, which included his parents, himself and two other siblings. He had a sister named Madeline Begley, and a brother named Jack Begley. His father, Craig Tester is one of the owners of Oak Island Tours Inc – owners of the Oak Island in Canada and on which the popular treasure hunting show on Discovery Channel called The Curse of Oak Island is filmed.
Craig has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a long time friend and business partner of Marty Laguna – one of the two Laguna brothers who are the face and stars of Oak Island Tours Inc. on the treasure hunting show. It is on record that both Craig and Marty Laguna were roommates in their days in the University, and not only did they study the same course but they also became very close friends and business partners. His mother is Becky Tester.
Drake was born with a seizure disorder, and though this was not an everyday issue in his life, his condition had to be managed carefully by his parents throughout his entire childhood, and well into his teenage years.
He began his education at Children High School in Traverse City since he was a child, and he attended this school until he was in the sixth grade. He also attended Traverse City Central High School in Traverse City and made quite an impact on the entire school so much that he was loved and adored by both the staff and student body.
Tester was a member of the school’s track team, the choir, and also the cross country team. He loved the tracks and was especially very good in long distance races. He also had a very good voice, which was very useful when he joined the school’s choir.
Death and Cause of Death, How Did He Die?
Drake Tester was like a ray of sunshine to whoever he met, but sadly and shockingly, he passed away on March 26, 2017, as a result of epileptic seizures, which he had lived with right from his birth. He was just a few months shy of celebrating his 17th birthday.
Drake’s seizure disorder was linked to epilepsy, a condition called “Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) and a lot of children and young adults die from this condition every year. Medical professionals have gone further to define SUDEP as death from epilepsy that strikes suddenly and unexpectedly yet is non-traumatic and non-drowning. It also leaves no toxicological or anatomical cause of death detected and cause of death can only be detected via a post mortem examination.

The causes of SUDEP can include cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and cerebral damage or malfunction, and this is without leaving out the very devastating effect that the seizures – which are sometimes very violent, has on the body of its sufferers.
The exact detail of Tester’s death was never mentioned by his family, but it is connected with complications arising from the epileptic seizures that he suffers from and was born with. It was a condition that though it lasted for just a few minutes, had dire effects – constantly destroying his physiology.
