Mariah Brown – Bio

On the 29th of July in 1995, Mariah Lian Brown was born to Kody Brown and his first wife, Meri Brown. She is the only child of Meri and Kody, and is one of the eighteen children that Kody has with his three other wives; some of the children are adopted, and Mariah also happens to be the third child in the brood of children her father has. Mariah was born in Utah where she spent all of her childhood, only leaving the state when she had to go to high school.

For her elementary education, she attended Sheila Tarr Elementary school and moved on to Centennial High School where she earned her high school diploma, this school was the location of the 2000 film Pay It Forward. After her time at Centennial, she returned to Utah in 2013 and went on to attend Westminster College where she graduated in 2017. It is not known what she got a degree in.

By the time Mariah Brown was in high school, her family was slowly gaining popularity. The first season of the reality show, Sister Wives aired between September and November of 2010. As at when the show started, her father was trying to marry his fourth wife, Robyn Alice. Mariah’s parents are no longer married as they got divorced four years after the show started.

The marriage between Mariah’s parents is described as a spiritual union; the same description given to Kody’s marriage to his second and third wives, Janelle and Christine. Of the four wives, the only one who Kody Brown is legally married to is his newest wife Robyn Alice, whom he got married to legally so as to be able to adopt her children, she had her children from her previous marriage which was a monogamous one.

In the United States of America, Polygamy is illegal but in Utah, the practice of polygamy still thrives somewhat, especially as the state has a history of the marital practice being legal from 1847 to 1857 when it was abolished.

Girlfriend

In 2017, Mariah Brown came out to her family as gay. Her otherwise religious family was very accepting of her and had no judgments or criticisms of her sexual orientation. When she came out to them, she stated that she had been very secretive of her sexuality, and had reservations about how the family would react to her announcement. Her decision to make the announcement on the show was her way of also telling the public and their fans about her sexuality.

It would also appear that her family’s immediate reaction of acceptance to her announcement was not how they really felt about the situation, especially her mother who was later revealed to have been sad about her daughter’s sexuality. Meri Brown had hopes that her daughter will have a heterosexual relationship and have a son she can call her own, seeing as she had only Mariah.

Mariah Brown is currently engaged to Audrey Kiss. They met while they were at Westminster College and had been dating for two years prior to their engagement. Brown proposed to Kriss at the Women’s March in Washington DC on the 16th of January, 2019.
