The name Meghan Ory might not ring a bell when one thinks of the heavyweights in the film industry. However, she is gradually building an enviable portfolio for herself. Originally from Canada, the actress is mostly known for her involvement in the ABC series, Once Upon A Time.

She has also worked with some other heavyweight networks like NBC and Hallmark. So far, she has also led a relatively “scandal-free” life.

Meghan Ory’s Bio

Meghan was born on August 20, 1982, in Victoria, the capital city of the Canadian province of British Columbia to her father Nathan Ory, and her mother, Bonnie Ory. She also has a sibling, a brother known as Jesse Ory. She had her middle school and secondary school education at Royal Oak Middle school and Claremont Secondary School respectively. Meghan’s love for acting was evident at a young age. Her skill had already begun to shine through as early as middle school. This earned her a Fine Arts Award for Acting from her middle school, in 1996.

Her first real acting gig came just three years later, in 1999, with Fox Family Channel. She played a role in a movie titled The Darklings, where she worked alongside Timothy Busfield and Suzanne Sommers. After a guest appearance on another television series, she finally landed her first regular gig. It was in the 2000 Fox Family series Higher Ground. She played Juliette Waybourne, a troubled and depressed character who was given to self-abuse. For this series, she worked with other popular names like A.J. Cook, Hayden Christensen, and fellow Smallville actress, Anne Marie DeLuise.

Following the turn of the millennium, she continued to be part of a slew of TV series with MTV’s 2ge+her and Vampire High coming in 2000 and 2001. Meghan continued to show up in bit-part roles on different projects in the early 2000s. She had a guest appearance on James Cameron’s cyberpunk TV series Dark Angel, starring . She was also in the horror/mystery series Glory Days, and films such as Lucky 7, and National Lampoon’s Thanksgiving Family Reunion.

Meghan Ory’s minor roles continued into the mid-2000s in series such as Life As We Know It, The Collector, and her involvement in the popular series Smallville. Her first big shot came with Decoys, which was her first feature film. In this film, Meghan plays an alien character, Alex. The rest of the 2000s saw her involved in more tv series as expected, but this time there were also some other feature film roles. Series like Dark House, Flash Gordon, and feature films like John Tucker Must Die, and, My Sister’s Keeper happened in the time leading up to 2010.

Ths period saw her work with fellow actresses like Pamela Anderson, Miranda Richardson, and Denise Richards. In 2010, she even appeared in a Keystone beer commercial titled “Rescue of Beer”.

Starting 2011, Meghan was Red Riding Hood in ABC’s popular series Once Upon a Time. Hers was a major character in the series’ first two seasons before she had to slow it down to focus most of her time on her then-new show Intelligence in 2013. Moving forward, she subsequently made only guest appearances on Once Upon a Time’s third and fifth episode.

Having worked with Hallmark on their mini-series Merlin’s Apprentice in 2006, she renewed their relationship when she starred in their original series Chesapeake Shores a decade later. In this series, Meghan Ory was a divorcee with two young kids.

Meghan’s romantic life is scandal free. It is true that many actors find love on set; Meghan’s love story is made from the same mold. She met John Reardon in 2006 while on the set of Hallmark’s Merlin’s Apprentice. Something obviously clicked between the two because they started going out. Two years later, in 2008, their love affair blossomed into a marriage. Meghan and her husband are cut from the same mold, as he too is an actor, and from Canada. Reardon who attended the Royal College of Dramatic Arts in London was also an all-star college football player while at Mount Allison University.

Starting his career two years after his wife, in 2001, John has appeared in his own share of tv series and films. These include White Chicks, Scary Movie 4, and of course, Merlin’s Apprentice. Perhaps it is their hectic work schedule or a personal decision, but whatever the reason the couple has been together for over a decade and haven’t produced any kid.
