It All Started A Decade Ago

Yes, their beef may have made news a sometime ago, but it is as old as can be, which is 10 years old. It all started in 2007 when Nicki released her ‘Dirty Money’ free style and there were some pretty specific lines there that were targeted at a certain fellow femcee.

She rapped, ‘ Tell that b—h with the crown to run it like Chris Brown / She won three rounds, I’mma need a hundred thou’ / Oh, y’all ain’t know? / Bet y’all b—hes know now.’ Well, her skillfully worded diss did not go unnoticed as she later ran into Remy at a mix tape release party and you bet Remy made a move, as there was some pressing involved.

After the star went to prison, Nicki did claim her crown though and she is in no mood to let go of it any time soon, but now with the whole Nicki vs Remy issue, anything could happen.

Remy Was ‘Mildly’ Supportive Of Nicki After Her Release

Remy was released in 2014 and many people in her shoes would have taken continuous jabs at their ‘foe’, but all seemed to be forgotten after her release. On one occasion, during Remy’s interview with Hot 97, she actually commended her fellow femcee.

She said, ‘ What I can say is that she’s a wonderful woman. She’s on the same page with me. Like, there’s no need to tear somebody down. I can say what I said. I let her know that I’m super proud of her.’ She also went on to rap on the instrumentals of not only one, but two of Nicki’s soundtracks.

In the first one, Only, which she considered a test drive, no jabs were thrown at Nicki, but she got a bit bolder on Nicki’s Truffle Butter soundtrack and the words ‘People keep saying, ‘Rem you need to drop a record’ / I’m like in a minute let me body b—hes records / Yeah, for the millions I will kill these pop hoes / Ain’t no one in these streets like me and potholes’ were rapped.

Nicki Minaj Is Supposedly The Only Party Using Subliminal Jabs

There were a number of instances where it seemed like Remy was throwing some major shade at Nicki Minaj, well the star denied that all during an interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, when asked if her lyrics for for Phresher’s remix of Wait a Minute were aimed at her fellow femcee, she quite the answer for that.

She said, ‘ Whenever I’ve had a problem with any female in this entire game, I will say your name… I’m going to say your government. I’m going to look it up. I’m going to say your mother’s name, your father’s name, your kid’s name, I want you to know that I’m talking about you.’

Boy did she come through on that front.

Nicki Minaj’s Most Recent Jabs Made All Hell Break Loose

Remy may have served the ‘death blow’ but Nicki placed the straw that broke the camel’s back on the camel. The Trinidadian artist recently rapped on Jason Derulo’s new single, Swalla, and she supposedly went after Remy using the words, ‘ I gave these b—hes two years, now your time’s up / Bless her heart, she throwing shots but every line sucks.’

That was not the end of it, she took it a notch higher on Gucci Mane’s Make Love, ‘ he ain’t eatin’ but I swear she got some bum a– taste / Text her man like, “Dawg, how that bum a– taste?” / Pay your rent! And stay in your bum a– place / Oooohhh, oh you the qu-e-e-the queen of this here? / One platinum plaque, album flopped, b—h, where? You see, silly rabbit, to be the queen of rap / You gotta sell records, you gotta get plaques.’

That was enough to warrant the 7 minute long diss track, Shether, that was released on February 26, 2017, pen that down guys, the internet almost got broken by this issue.
