He was born on February 1, 1968, in Los Angeles, California to his parents; Mitzi Shore, his mother and Sammy Shore, his father. There was no escaping the comedy line by Shore who was born into a family of comedy lovers; his mother founded a popular Comedy Store and his father was a popular comedian. Growing up with his parents as well as prolific comic performers at the Comedy Store like Roseanne Barr, Richard Pryor, Shore at the age of 17 decided to fly the comedy flag like his ancestors.
He had attended Beverly Hills High School but sat back when his mates were filling out SAT applications. Shore had already made a decision to ditch college and pursue a career in comedy. He held on to his dreams and started out under Sam Kinison who would let him open his sets. He soon embarked on tours and then built for himself an alter ego ‘The Weasel’ who was generally known for his catchphrase ‘Hey BU-DDY’.
Pauly Shore became very popular after he worked as a video jockey/veejay (VJ) for MTV from 1989 to 1994. From being an on-air VJ, he came up with his own show ‘Totally Pauly’. He also tested waters in music when he served the public with a music video ‘Lisa, Lisa, the One I Adore’. He then made his way to the movie industry in the 90s starting out with a role in Encino Man in 1992. His role in the hit movie earned him another in Son in Law as well as Jury Duty, In the Army Now and others. His next appearance was in Pauly the shortlived TV show. He lent his voice to the character of Bobby Zimmeruski in the animated film ‘A Goofy Movie’ and then played a role in Stonerville in 2010 and also dabbled briefly in music afterward.
