Biography

Pom Klementieff was born on the 3rd of May, 1986, in Quebec, Canada to a Korean mother and a French-Russian father, who was working in Canada as a consul with the French government. Pom lived in Canada for about a year before her family’s extensive traveling, as a result of her father’s job caused her to live in Japan and the Ivory Coast before the family finally settled in France.

Before finding her career path in acting, Klementieff attended law school briefly. She also worked as a waitress and a saleswoman. At the age of 19, Pom began attending Cours Florent drama school in Paris which was where she got her start in acting. After a few months into her time at Cours, she won a theater competition that awarded her scholarship for two years to study with Cours’ top teachers.

Pom’s professional acting career started with a French independent film Apres Lui in 2007, where she portrayed the stepdaughter of the protagonist, played by Catherine Deneuve.

Her Hollywood debut came in 2013 when she portrayed Haeng-Bok, the bodyguard of the antagonist in Spike Lee’s Oldboy, a remake of the South Korean film of the same name. She went on to star in several American movies after Oldboy and has made a name for herself in Hollywood.

Family Life
