For a girl that had self-esteem issues during her growing up years, Taylor Hickson has really come a long way. She is a Canadian actress, singer, and songwriter who is popularly known for her part in Deadpool.

The singer-songwriter has confessed that she lacked self-confidence during her formative years and had to constantly remind herself that she is beautiful.

According to her, everything we see around us influences the brain and, self-love takes a lot of hard work and practice. In all, she has severally expressed that acting enhanced her self-confidence; she is no longer the timid girl she used to be.

Taylor Delaney Hickson popularly known by her fans as Taylor Hickson was born on the 11th day of December 1997 in Kelowna, British Columbia. Taylor was born as the oldest child of Russell Hickson (father) and Shannon Hickson (mother). She was raised in Kelowna alongside her three younger siblings – Tyson, Tianna, and Tiernan.

Taylor whose birth sign is Sagittarius is a White Canadian. She fell in love with music at the tender age of two and her sweet voice could be heard everywhere as she sings. At the age of 11, Taylor’s father who was a rising musician encouraged her daughter’s passion for music. He made her take singing lessons and even started performing with her locally.

Before the end of her 11th year, the budding singer was already singing folk tunes with her father at talent shows and consequently, she developed a deep interest in both piano and guitar.

Taylor graduated from high school in 2004 and decided to fully concentrate on her passion for acting and music. Immediately after her graduation, she auditioned for an acting role with a casting agent who was a friend of her aunt and was eventually signed on the same day. Although she was not really interested in acting at the initial time, she auditioned for more roles which saw her land a silent spot in the film titled Blackway where she was cast opposite Anthony Hopkins as a disturbed teenager.

In 2016, she made her breakthrough role in the action-comedy Deadpool which was also her first speaking part. In Deadpool, she was cast in the role of Meghan Orlovsky. Taylor Hickson confessed in an interview that her role in the film really heightened her interest in acting. She related that she did not really know how badly she wanted to act until her part in Deadpool. And, that prior to Deadpool, she regarded acting as fun and something on the side. She never imagined it would be the very thing that changed her life.

Also in 2016, Taylor participated in the show Aftermath where she was cast in the role of Brianna Copeland, a headstrong teenager which she labeled a dream role. To her, there are many similarities between her real self and the character of Brianna whom she sees as a combative version of herself. The actress also revealed that she and Brianna shared many things in common like impatience, temper, and stubbornness. Brianna might pose a hardened exterior to the public but when she loves she loved unconditionally which is much like her own character.

In a review of her work in Aftermath, Contrast magazine described Taylor as a “beautiful jewel of an actress”. It has been widely predicted that her future in acting is a bright one and, almost everyone has agreed that the young actress has a natural talent well beyond her years.

Throughout the latter part of 2016, the rising star won parts in several films like Incident in a Ghost Land and Everything, Everything (2017). She bagged another role in the film Hunting Pignut which is an Independent dramatic film based on a true story of a girl searching for a man and played the part of the daughter of a private investigator in the 2017 feature Residue.

Tylor had an accident while shooting the film Ghostland. She was told by the crew that it was safe to bang her hand against a glass window which she did and the window shattered. She lost her balance and fell on the floor cutting the side of her face on the shattered glass. As a result of this incident, the left side of her face needed 70 stitches to patch it up and consequently, she was left with a permanent scar.

When it comes to her love life, Taylor is keeping it secret and confidential but nevertheless, titbits about her romantic affairs keep getting out from time to time. It is largely believed that the beautiful actress is still single and has no offspring yet, but her Instagram account says she is currently in a relationship.

Her boyfriend is identified as David Nadeau and she has a picture of them locked in a passionate kiss on Instagram. The lovebirds started dating in 2017.
