The Premise of Seasons 1 & 2
The show which was produced by Electric Entertainment and Arrowstorm Entertainment features Jessica Green in the lead role starring as Talon, who survives the brutal slaughtering of her whole race and family. She then sets out to track the people who murdered her family members. As she journeys towards a lawless fortress on the edge of the civilized world called the Outpost, she discovers her supernatural powers which she must learn to control and seeks allies to help her defeat her enemies. She finds an ally in a queen who has been in hiding and they fight to defend the world against a fanatical religious dictator.
Season 2 ended with Talon and Gwynn preparing for an impending war against the prime order after defeating Dred’s army and retaking the Outpost. Fans of the show await the next season in anticipation especially the outcome of the impending war.
In terms of ratings and the success of the show, it has an average rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a rating below average on Metacritic and 5.8/10 on IMDb. The major consensus by critics is that the production design looks cheap and when compared to other successful fantasy series like the Lord of the Rings, Xena: Warrior Princess and Game of Thrones it falls painfully short. Despite all this, the show has attracted and maintained a decent following since it first premiered.
While the series was created and written by Jason Faller and Kynan Griffin it took a team effort to direct the various episodes. For season one, the directors include John Lyde, Kurt Knight, Kynan Griffin, Clare Neiderpreum and Jason Faller. For the second season, the directors are Marc Roskin, Jonathan Glassner, Orsi Nagypal, Milan Todorovic, Dusan Lazarevic, and Kurt Knight. It has been nominated for the 2019 Saturn Awards for Best Fantasy Television Series but the event is yet to hold so it’s uncertain if it will win the award.
