How Many Seasons Have Aired in The Walking Dead TV Series So Far?

The Walking Dead television series has been on since it was first broadcast on October 31, 2010, on AMC. The series first season contained 6 episodes which came to an end on December 5, 2010. The second began on October 16, 2011, and this time, it contained 13 episodes. The series has so far had 9 seasons which have been released with a total of 133 episodes.

The series encapsulates the events that occur around the lives of the survivors of an apocalypse. The apocalypse was caused by a disease that had no cure and turned most of the world’s population to mindless zombies who feed on blood as they have none. The Walking Dead TV series, as well as the book it was adapted from, has Sheriff’s deputy Rick Grimes as its lead protagonist. Grimes is forced by the situation to become a post-apocalyptic leader of the human survivors.

The Walking Dead TV series has had a long assemble of characters and cast so far. It comes as no surprise as it has spanned so long. The cast and characters have also been changed over the years. However, a few have remained constant or rather long-standing such as who played Rick Grimes until the character seized to exist in season 9. Has The Walking Dead TV Series Ended?

The answer to this question is NO. This horror zombie series hasn’t ended yet. It was renewed for a new season after season 9 was concluded on March 31, 2019. The 10th season began on October 6, 2019, when its first episode was released on AMC. Some cast has announced the season to be their last. Not to worry, it isn’t the last of The Walking Dead seasons. On October 5th, 2019, the series was renewed for the 11th season.

Also, the producers have disclosed that there will be a 12th season as they are also prepared for that.

What Do Do We Know About The Comic Book?

The Walking Dead comic book is the book the series is based on. According to executive producer, David Alpert, he loves working from source material. The comic book was originally written by Robert Kirkman. Robert is also famous for writing ‘Invincible’, ‘Tech Jacket’, ‘Outcast’ and ‘Oblivion Song’. This particular comic book had a couple of other artists and content creators such as Tony Moore, Charlie Adlard, Cliff Rathburn, and so on.

The book follows the life of a duty-bound former deputy, Rick Grimes who wakes out of a coma to a post-apocalyptic world. After joining with some other survivors, he gradually takes on the role of leader of a community struggling to survive the apocalypse.

How Does The Comic Book Ending Affect The Series?

This question cannot be answered with certainty. The comic book coming to an end might not affect the continuation of the series. According to producers, the comic book which came to a surprising end in July 2019 doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the series. Denise Huth also told the media that he is certain that even though the blueprint for The Walking Dead TV series doesn’t exist anymore, the writers will be able to tell these characters’ stories for a long time to come.
