Senator Chris Coons has built a reputation for himself as a pragmatic legislator who works hard to provide credible and effective representation for his constituents in a bid to justify the confidence reposed in him by his people. Although he is a Democrat, Senatore Coons tries to find bipartisan ways to legislate and find common grounds in a US Senate. This is because the house is divided by two ideologies (Democrat and Republican) that are always at an impasse with regards to certain key policy issues such as taxes, healthcare, immigration, foreign policy, etc.
Since joining the US Senate in 2010, he has positioned himself as an advocate for jobs, social justice, and a progressive foreign policy, among other things. This has seen him serve in Senate committees such as the Committees on Budget, Foreign Relations, Appropriations, and also Judiciary.
