Larry The Cable Guy is easily one of the most successful comedians in the industry today and he has years of hard work and dedication to credit for that. He is also an actor, former radio personality, voice artist and country music performer.
He was also a member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, a popular comedy troupe which included Ron White, Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall. Not only has Larry The Cable Guy starred in three Blue Collar Comedy Tour movies, he has also released seven comedy albums. Out of his seven comedy albums, three have sold over 500,000 copies leading to them being certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
He also starred in Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector, Delta Farce and Witless Protection. The movies were met with mediocre commercial success but were universally and overwhelmingly panned by critics; some of them were even nominated for Golden Raspberry Awards – awards for the worst movies of the year.

Larry The Cable Guy was born Daniel Lawrence Whitney on the 17th of February, 1963 in Pawnee City, Nebraska. In Nebraska, he was raised on a pig farm by his parents.
He attended The King’s Academy in Florida for his secondary education; his father was the principal of The King’s Academy’s elementary school. In 1982, he started attending Berean Christian School in West Palm Beach.
He attended the University of Nebraska for his tertiary education. At The University of Nebraska, he majored in Drama and Speech. But as fate would have it, he dropped out of the university in his junior year after attempting comedy. His roommates, who were from Georgia and Texas, influenced the southern accent that he performs with.

His mother was Shirley Whitney and his father was Tom Whitney, a Christian minister, an entertainer and a guitarist. He has a sister, Debbie Whitney and a brother, Tom Whitney Jr. as well.
In 2005, he got married to his wife, Cara Whitney on the 3rd of July. The couple now has two children – a son, Wyatt Whitney, who was born on the 2nd of August 2006. Their daughter was born on the 29th of October 2007.
