In addition to his acclaimed job as a stand-up comedian, American funnyman Greg Fitzsimmons is also a writer, producer, television and radio host. He is known for hosting the award-winning MTV series Idiot Savants in the 1990s.

He started with stand-up comedy during his college days and went on to grow his craft to cover other areas. He has currently made appearances on top radio and TV shows like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien as well as The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The latter got him four Daytime Emmy Awards. He also hosts his eponymous show – The Greg Fitzsimmons Show on Howard 101.

Greg Fitzsimmons Bio

On April 5, 1966, the comedian was born in New York City, New York where he grew up in Tarrytown. His father, a New York City radio personality Bob Fitzsimmons, and mother Patricia Fitzsimmons named him Gregory Sebastian Fitzsimmons at birth.

There are no details available about the schools he attended for his early education but he got his bachelor’s degree from Boston University where his career as a comedian also began. Perhaps inspired by his father who was already an established radio presenter, Fitzsimmons showed great potentials in his budding days and in no time, he was rubbing shoulders with the big shots in the industry.

So far, he has had stints on popular TV programs like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Chelsea Lately and Late Show with David Letterman. He also has his own one-hour Comedy Central special dubbed Life on Stage.

The Adam Carolla Podcast and the Joe Rogan Experience are some of his other exploits where he made has made guest appearances.

Earlier in 1996, the TV presenter was in charge of the mic at the MTV game show Idiot Savants, through which he won a Cable Ace Award. He also became a commentator on Vh1’s Best Week Ever, I Love The series and Tough Crowd w/ Colin Quinn. 2014 saw him star in TruTV’s How to Be a Grownup and as a recurring panellist on @midnight on Comedy Central.
