Biography

James attended Park Middle School and Holmer Green Upper School. He recalls not having much interest in academics as a child and focused early in life on the performing arts. He studied drama at the Jackie Palmer Stage School. He made his first major appearance in the Television series ‘Fat Friends’ in 2000.

In 2007, James Corden co-starred in his own series, the BBC sitcom Gavin and Stacey. He co-wrote the series with Ruth Jones who also played a lead role. The series turned out to be a major comedy hit raking up numerous British Awards. Corden was awarded the Best Comedy Actor. The series won Best New British Television Comedy at the 2007 British Comedy Awards, and also won the BAFTA’s Audience Award for Programme of the Year. In 2010, Gavin and Stacey won the award for Most Popular Comedy Programme at the National Television Awards.

In June 2011, James played the lead role in the hit comedy play One Man, Two Guvnors. He has featured in the following movies; The Three Musketeers, Kill Your friends, The Lady In The Van, Into The Woods among many others. In March 2015 it was announced that will succeed Craig Ferguson as host of the American late-night talk show The Late Late Show. James hosted the 2017 and 2018 Grammy Awards.

As a bachelor, James used to live in a flat with his friend Dominic Cooper for several years. Dominic introduced his longtime friend Julia to James and the pair started dating. James had just broken up with his former girlfriend -actress Sheridan Smith before hooking up with Julia Carey. James and Julia got engaged on Christmas Day 2010.

On the 5^th of September 2012, Julia and James Corden got married at a lavish event at Babington House, Somerset. The exotic venue was formerly a 32-bedroom state home which has been converted to a private hotel. The groom arrived the venue in a helicopter with James wearing a navy suit by Spencer Heart along with a white rose on his left lapel while Julia arrived in a lace Monique Lhuillier gown.

Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol’s lead singer) performed at the wedding alongside other artists -DJ Chris Moyles, Rizzle Kicks. Other A-list celebrities in attendance included Cooper, Lara Stone, Matt Smith, David Williams, Jimmy Carr and Natalie Imbruglia.

The quantum leap in James income came when he was hired to host The Late Late Show in 2015. At inception, he signed a three-year deal to make £1.5 million ( $2 million) for the first year Due to rave reviews for his performance, in August 2015, he was offered a further two-year extension, stretching the contract all the way to 2020. The extension means he gets to earn another £3 million (around $3.9 million) for hosting the show.

Weight Loss

One constant theme throughout James Corden’s adult life has been his weight. While he was younger, James starred on the cast of the movie Fat Friends which he co-wrote with co-star Ruth Jones. When James moved to LA he employed the services of a weight loss guru and a nutritional therapist, Amelia Freer, who helped him lose 85 pounds.

Her method with James is now famously called the James Corden weight loss program. The program applies principles of functional medicine. The program doesn’t necessarily aggressively clamp down on food consumption but rather, the classes of food eaten and the time of consumption. James also hired a personal trainer who works with him three times a week.
