Jeremy Bash is a notable personality on issues concerning US national security, international relations, and foreign policy. He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University and went on to earn his law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School.

Jeremy Bash Biography

Jeremy B. Bash was born on August 13, 1971, to Dr. Deborah Bash and Rabbi Marvin Bash. He grew up in Arlington, Virginia in a conservative Jewish family.

He had his high school education at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School. His college education was at Georgetown University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government. At Georgetown, he headed the team of editors of the University’s newspaper, The Hoya. In 1998, he received his law degree cum laude from the Harvard Law School. He equally served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review.

Jeremy Bash was accepted into the bars of the US states of Virginia, Maryland, and Washington. He was equally admitted to that of the Eastern District of Virginia and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. As a young lawyer, Bash served as a law clerk to Judge Leonie M. Brinkema of Federal District Court in Alexandria.

In 2000, Jeremy Bash was appointed to serve as the national security advisor for the Al Gore/Joe Lieberman US presidential campaign. After the elections, he returned to private law practice at the D.C. office of O’Melveny & Myers LLP. In addition, he also served as counsel to the U.S. Reps committee on intelligence and as a top aide to Californian Congresswoman Jane Harman who was also on the committee.

Bash has also served as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Being an erudite lawyer, he has delivered several lectures at both the Harvard and Georgetown Law Schools, at the American University and also at the National War College. Indeed, Jeremy Bash is an authority on all things relating to top-level government operations in the US and on the international level.

Of course, Jeremy Bash is married. His wife’s name is Robyn Bash (née Cooke). She served as the Vice President of government relations and public policy operations at the American Hospital Association. She has also served as the coordinator of the executive branch relations of the organization.

Before his marriage to Robyn, Jeremy Bash was married to CNN political correspondent Dana Bash. The former couple tied the knot on September 6, 1998. Their marriage lasted for 9 years and ended in a divorce in 2007.

The marriage between Jeremy and Dana Bash was much more publicised than his current marriage, probably because both parties are public figures. On the contrary, his second marriage has been kept as private as possible and not much is revealed about his family life.
