Even before the third season of the sensational Netflix series The Crown is out, there is a strong buzz on what The Crown season 4 will look like as well as who will be a part of it. Season three of the series is set for release on November 17, 2019. With information dripping little by little on the fourth season of the show, here is all we have been able to gather.

Will There Be ‘The Crown’ Season 4?

As already indicated, the third season of the show is still being awaited. Nonetheless, we can confirm that the Netflix show will return for yet another season after the third. In fact, there are words that not only are we going to see The Crown Season 4, but the show may extend to season 5 and 6 sometime in the not-too-distant future. But then, we do not need to get ahead of ourselves.

From all that has been gathered, the casting of the show is already completed and as of September 2019, production has already started. As revealed by the creator of the historical series, Peter Morgan in 2018, the third season of the show as well as the fourth would be filmed back-to-back as the two were written at almost the same time.

True to this, the filming of the fourth season has begun and some locations have been revealed to include Almeria, Spain, and Australia as the stars tried recreating the visit of Prince Charles and Diana to the country in 1983. The stars portraying the royals, Josh O’Connor and Emma Corrin were spotted at the location; O’Connor in the same khaki safari suit as Prince Charles many years ago and Emma in a similar outfit to what the Princess of Wales wore.

When Is The Release Date?

Inasmuch as we know that The Crown’s fourth season is coming and that work has already started to that regard, what is not known is when it will finally be released.

The series which centers on the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, first premiered in November 2016 with 10 episodes. The second season came in December 2017 and just like the first season, it also had 10 episodes. The third season will be released in November 2019, and if that is anything to go by, then we may as well expect The Crown season 4 to be released by either November or December 2020.

Who Will Make The Cast Of The Crown Season 4? 

The report made available is that the fourth season will feature the times of Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister as well as and . What this obviously means is that we will see new faces joining the series. Here are some of those who have been confirmed to be a part of the 4th season of the show:

1. Gillian Anderson (Margaret Thatcher)

has been confirmed to be one of the cast members joining the series to play the role of Margaret Thatcher. This has been confirmed by The Crown’s Twitter handle while also confirming that the show is already in production for the fourth installment.

2. Emma Corrin (Princess Diana)

One of the most surprising confirmations that was gotten is as regards Corrin, who has been recruited to play the most loved Princess of Wales. Emma is pretty much a new actress who has not been involved in many productions yet. However, with great talent, looks that could fairly pass for the late princess, and the fact that she’s within the same age bracket, it makes sense that she has the role.

3. Josh O’Connor (Prince Charles)

Wearing the shoes of Prince Charles in the fourth season is this multi-talented English actor popular for the 2017 film, God’s Own Country for which he got a BAFTA nomination. Production images released showed him acting alongside Emma in Spain.

There will be many others who are also coming from Season 3 to make the Season four as the historical events continue. Of course, who is starring as Queen Elizabeth in season 3 is maintaining her place in season four while will again portray Princess Margaret.

With that said, we will see the exit of a good number of cast members from season one and season two as their roles are finished.
