Biography And Age Of Nina Turner

Nina came into the world as Nina Hudson on the 7th of December 1976, in Cleveland, Ohio. As such, she is obviously of American nationality with Afro-American ethnicity. Her religion is Christianity. According to the available records, her parents started as teenagers and had seven children in all. By the time she attained five years of age, her parents’ marriage had already hit the rocks. It would appear that she went with her mother because, at the age of 14, she was already working part-time and handing over all her earnings to her mum.

On her academic qualifications and background, she attended John F. Kennedy High School located in her home town of Cleveland, graduating in 1986. It may be as a result of lack of financial support but she decided to take on several jobs instead of going for higher education immediately after high school. Majorly, she worked at fast food outlets and at a Payless shop where she met her future husband Jeffrey Turner. On the long run, she went back to her academics, she attended Cuyahoga Community College where she bagged Associate of Arts degree. Nina Turner proceeded to Cleveland State University, graduating with a BA, as well as Master of Arts in 1997.

Career Achievements

The then state senator Rhine McLin gave Nina her first professional job as his legislative aide. She later went back to her home town to join Mayor Michael White’s administration which gave her promotion to Executive Assistant of Legislative Affairs. As the Director of Government Affairs for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, she lobbied on behalf of Cleveland’s school children both at the federal and state levels.

2001 saw her running for the office of Cleveland City Council Representative for Ward One, but Joe Jones who was the incumbent was re-elected, though he resigned three years later in November 2004. His wife Tonya Jones took over the race in the 2005 elections but she was defeated by Nina who assumed office as the as Ward One City Council Representative.

Nina Turner replaced Senator Lance Mason who resigned from his 25th District seat in the Ohio Senate in favour of Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas appointment in 2008 September. She had to leave her City Council seat in favour of the appointment on September 15, 2008. Nina became the Ranking Minority member on the committees of the Senate Highways & Transportation and Judiciary Criminal Justice. In 2010, she was elected full term and unopposed during the general election. Midway through the 129th General Assembly, she became the minority whip. She still retained the position in the 130th General Assembly.

Husband

Nina Turner met Jeffrey Turner, Sr., the man who would later become her soul mate, during her employment period at Payless shoe store. Although the details of their marriage are not common knowledge, the duo is visibly married and living happily as a couple. They have one child; a son named Jeffery Turner, Jr. but the details of his birth has never been made public.
