Pete is of Irish Lithuanian ethnicity – his father is Irish and his mother is from Lithuania, a country in Europe. He was raised in Lexington and also attended Lexington High School, where he finished his high school education.

Holmes began his college career at Gordon College, Wenham, Massachusetts, where he studied English and Communications. As a student, he was part of the group that took part in the improvisational comedy troupe, The Sweaty-Toothed Madmen. He formerly lived in Chicago as well as Sleepy Hollow, a city situated in New York. Presently, he manages his career from Los Angeles.

The comedian first declared himself and Valerie as a couple on his Instagram page on 17th October 2015, and ever since, he has never shied away from showing the world how precious she is to him. The two share a daughter together who was born in September 2018.
